Who Put You In Charge?

Leadership is not one of your common garden variety of personal or professional skills that everyone naturally possesses. Influence takes more than just putting one's nose in the air and wearing regal ornaments. We are seeing that many individuals who are currently in roles of authority do not necessarily have the essential capacity of forethought or intellect that are prerequisite to properly manage themselves let alone another person, group, organization or institution. Each of us must contemplate taking the leadership roles in our personal lives as "the system" is disintegrating.
The decision to become the king or queen of our own life is the first step. Pacing ourselves is the important first step and remembering that patience is a virtue for everyone especially during times of transition from one way of seeing our life to another. The folks in the Gulf Coast are experiencing similar pressures because their lives have been uprooted and replanted somewhere else. We must remember that not every decision will be easily enacted or that our life will suddenly blossom into a glorious rose garden or hardy vegetable patch. Just keep pulling the weeds and fertilize often.
When we reach out and embrace our neighbors we see pictures that enhance everyday life in our own international community.
