Compassionate Jewelry

There are many times in life that we find we are starting over. These can be major occasions or simply minor moments. God uses these incidents to alter our path and life plan and to bring new directions and attitudes into our usual tightly focused everyday thought process. As in the case of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina we see a nation coming to grips with the starting over procedure including the who, what, when, where and how in the rebuilding and relocation process. Many times we must totally pick up and start over when death, divorce and natural disasters bring us change.
There are times when we feel the need to have compassion for others during their time of change and growth especially when there is a great deal of pain involved. When we reach out to give help to others we also get back in many ways although it is often unseen at first. Sue Cushman who works at the Bay Medical Clinic began selling compassion bracelets to send the proceeds directly to her friends in New Orleans whose lives were adversely affected by the recent mass devastation. This "hands on" compassionate caring helps in the process of "starting over" for everyone.
When we reach out and embrace our neighbors we see pictures that enhance everyday life in our own international community.
